Receivers are metal containers for collecting air.

And the larger the volume of the tank, the less pressure surges, all other things being equal. Pressure surges in the pneumatic system reduce its energy efficiency and, moreover, are not too favorable for some air consumers, therefore, the larger the volume of the receiver in the system, the better. Until now, this method of smoothing the air flow in the pneumatic line is the most common.

Receivers for a compressor with large volumes are often traditionally called air collectors. Also, air collectors or pneumatic accumulators can be called containers, the main purpose of which is to store air or gas. Sometimes an air collector is called a container in a heating system in which air bubbles are separated from the coolant flow.
